It was home captain Krakovic who openned the game with his hook shot, but it was for long time last lead for Decin. Graz started to show his ability to play good effective basketball and after Turman made two on 4:13, home coach Budinsky took a timeout. Three pointers got home team back to the game, but Austrians won first 10 minutes 20:23.

Also in second quarter it was Krakovic who scored first, but Graz was active on offensive rebounds and evethough Decin got close in 18th minute (41:42), Nikolič finished this part with a three to get it on 43:49.

“Warriors” from Decin started second half with much bigger energy and intensity, anyway turnovers and few mistakes gave chance to Graz to stay ahead. Guests were not that precious in shooting and home team was getting closer and closer as Pomikalek was last scorer to make it 60:61.

First seconds in last period showed that Decin wants to protect home court really hard. Home team got ist defense on better level gave the only chance to Graz points from free throws in first 5 minutes of the last quarter. It was also Lamb Autrey who scored 13 of his 20 points between 31st and 36th minute to give 77:65 lead to his team. The end of the game was under home team control as Decin took 86:76 win.

Pavel Budinsky, head coach of Decin: “Today we didn’t play the game with the right energy, we were late in every aspect of the game and that was why Graz was punishing us very effectively. First half was very poor from us on defensive side, in offense we had 64% three point shooting which kept us in only 6 point deficit. Eventhough our opponent kept the score close after third part, I think they started to lose physical power and once we got to double figure lead, the game was decided. In the end we controlled our win and we are very happy we won also third game in this group on our home court.”

Lamb Autrey, player of Decin: “We started pretty slowly in the beginning as we did not put enough energy. In the half we were down by 6 points, but we put up more intensity, we helped each other in defense more. Offensively we started to attack more, get open shots and we finished strong. We definitely want to make next round of this competition so this win was a must for us and I am excited for it.”

Milos Sporar, head coach of Graz: “I think this was the best first half of Graz during last two years and I am happy for it, because we are building something in Graz. Third quarter we play our level, between first half and last quarter, when we were completely destroyed, because we have not equal quality on a bench, but these are only excuses. We have to control better the game much better, this is not for the first time, we already had two or three games like this. This all starts with point guard and I hope we will make this aspect better in the future.”

Anton Maresch, player of Graz: “We lost control in the last quarter, we didn’t play as a team any more. In the end they just ran over us and that is why we could not finish the game strong.”
