Younger Malovec scored 18 sec. before the end of regulation, giving Inter a 89:86 lead. But after the timeout yellow-and-black made a horrific mistake in defending the perimeter. Post-game quotes:
Oleg Meleshchenko, coach of Inter: “Bench players made the difference. Yesterday, they let the game slip, because today it was a crucial game. Looking onto the stats, we were worse on rebounding, but overall, we played well, having many assists and just nine turnovers. But we were lacking more aggressive players. Anyway, I am thankful, because my guys were fighting until the end.”
Trevor Blondin, player of Inter: “It was a fine game. Both teams fought back and forth. Two good teams… Obviously they´ve got a little size on us, so they killed us inside a little bit. We´ve got tired at the end and we did not execute enough to win the game.”
Miljan Pavkovič, coach of Šenčur: “Very important game for both teams. At the end players from the bench decided the game. Our opponents fought very well and they also deserved to win and they had a chance, but we had luck and also we´ve shown our experience and won the game.”
Ramo Rizvič, player of Šenčur: “Big game for us. We needed victory and we won. That’s it. We are in the final eight.”
