Perič opened the game with successfull 3-pointer, but Levice answered with six points in a row. Home team played good in defense, they forced Osijek to many turnovers. With that, the score after six minutes was 16:6. Croatian team woke up in that moment, they managed to lower the deficit. After first quarter it was 22:16 for Slovak team. In the second period Levice got even better in offense, they quickly gained double digit lead. Osijek was not doing well in offense, so after 20 minutes they were trailing 33:51.
After the break not so much changed, the bench of Levice was keeping high energy and tempo, so the lead was still raising. Before the last quarter, Patrioti were in 28-point lead – 74:46. Last minutes brought many good moments on home side, fans were enjoying the road to the biggest win of the season. Levice made a big statement in first quarterfinals match, they destroyed Osijek 103:62.
Teo Hojč, head coach of Levice: “Good performance from our guys. We had solid energy in the game, we played team basketball, which is always important for us. We tried to control their best players. I am happy, we got such an advantage before the game in Osijek.”
Boris Bojanovský, player of Levice: “We entered the game focused, we did not underestimate the opponent a from the beginning we build our lead. We played good and quick basketball, which was going from our good defense. We got easy baskets and we managed to do that the whole 40 minutes.”
Domagoj Kujundžič, head coach of Osijek: “We played a very bad game. The main reason was that we played a tough match on Monday. We lost there a lot of energy. In that match we played in shortened rotation, in Levice we started right off the bus. I think we lost before the match even started.”
Mário Ihrin, player of Osijek: “We came here without energy. They got more energy then us. Maybe the reason was, we played on Monday. Unfortunatelly, that´s how it goes. Levice were better team, they played good, they shot well and we could not find recipe for that.”
